I've had 5gb PSTs on a decent network no problem. PST is for offline mail, OST is for cached mail. You would just remove the outlook profile under mail in control panel, and set it up again and let it re-download, where it would create a new OST. There is no "moving mail around" to a new PST because it's all in the cloud/on the server if on prem. He shouldn't have a PST, he should only have an OST. Let's backup with the PST related recommendations. I'd greatly appreciate if anyone else has any ideas that I could try or should I just re-build it and hope it makes it better? I'm currently in the process of re-creating his profile with the shared mailboxes set to run in online mode to make his OST file smaller to see if that resolves the issue, he's also got a 5GB Archive file (.PST) though. Disabled Add-ins and started in safemode.I've now upgraded him to an SSD and cloned the HDD to it, the winsat test is now coming back around 250MB/s but the user is still experiencing hangs although I'm sure they're not as bad. It will freeze while typing e-mails and looking through the inbox.įirst I noticed that his OST had reached 5GB which apparently is where you can start to run into performance issues ( ), I did a winsat test on the link above and it came back at 3MB/s. One of my users is having issues with Outlook freezing constantly and it's driving me mad.
